Scholarship Eligibility and Application

MCC students who attend on a full-time or part-time basis and are matriculated in a degree or certificate program at MCC are eligible to apply for scholarships.

Eligibility and Awards

Scholarships are awarded based on a combination of factors, including academic achievement, financial need, service to the college and community, and credit load. While a GPA of 2.5 or better is preferred, progress in academics is considered. Financial need, high school graduate/GED and academic merit scholarships are available. Awards range from $150 to more than $1,000 and are available for fall and spring.

Please Note

  • Scholarships will be awarded annually (fall and spring semesters).
  • Most fall scholarships are renewable for the spring semester as long as you continue to meet the criteria for the scholarship you were awarded. You will be notified by our office if your scholarship is renewable.
  • Recent high school and GED graduates can apply for a scholarship to attend MCC.
  • All notifications regarding scholarships are sent via email to your MCC email address. It is important that you check this address regularly.
  • Students who are offered a scholarship are required to submit a thank you letter. Failure to submit the letter by the due date will result in the forfeiture of your scholarship.
  • Scholarships are sent to the Bursar’s office and applied to outstanding tuition and fees first. Some scholarships can be used for textbooks, some can be refunded to the student, and some must be returned to the Foundation if not used.
